The movie takes place five years after the events of the third film. Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), a struggling inventor, discovers a dormant Optimus Prime in a junkyard, which he takes to his home. Unbeknownst to Cade, Optimus Prime is on a mission to find the location of the Ark, a ancient alien ship that contains the keys to Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers.
