The story begins with a T-1000 (Robert Patrick) being sent back in time to kill John Connor (Edward Furlong), while a reprogrammed T-800 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is also sent back to protect him. The T-800 and John form a bond, and they work together to prevent Judgment Day, a catastrophic event that will mark the beginning of the end of humanity.
