Skymoviezhdin never explained itself. Scientists moved on to other puzzles. Clerics hedged their doctrine around it without pronouncements. People in Upd learned to accept that something beautiful could be neither fully understandable nor fully controllable. They learned to make small agreements with it: to pass kindness along, to keep watch for one another, to speak when a memory from the sky needed hearing.
