The film revolves around the Snedeker family, consisting of parents Carl and Lorraine, and their children, Michael, Christina, and Katie. The family moves into their new home, a former mortuary in Glastonbury, Connecticut, to accommodate Carl's needs as a hospice worker. Soon after the move, strange and terrifying events occur, leading the family to suspect that their new home is haunted.
