Metal Gear Solid is a critically acclaimed action-adventure stealth game developed by Konami. Released in 1998 for the PlayStation, it is the third main installment in the Metal Gear series, following the MSX2 games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. The game was directed by Hideo Kojima, who is also the creator of the Metal Gear series.
