The movie takes place in a distant future where Earth is under threat from an alien invasion. Jupiter Jones, a street cleaner, discovers that she is the key to saving the world. She is recruited by an alien named Cael (played by Channing Tatum) who takes her on a journey through space to prevent a catastrophic event that could destroy the Earth.
