The drama takes place in the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) and revolves around the story of Hong Ik-pyo (played by Oh Yeon-seo), a talented and beautiful courtesan who becomes involved in a complicated love triangle with King Cheoljong (played by Lee Jong-suk) and Park Hae-jin (played by Jo Hyun-jae).
